What to Cook Tonight #75
Fabulous Asian recipes with fresh, zippy flavours. Brothy Wonton Noodle Soup to satisfy all your comfort cravings, knockout Prawn & Ginger Wontons, and a fab Crispy Rice Salad with Edamame & Avocado.
This week’s recipes are all about fabulous Asian aromatics and ingredients — ginger, garlic, dashi, soy, coriander, spring onions, and crispy chilli oil. Zippy, fresh, and flavourful.
We have a stunning recipe for a Wonton Noodle Soup that will satisfy all your comfort cravings (we are certainly addicted). The broth is wonderfully light thanks to ginger and dashi, keeping it lovely and fresh — perfect for shoulder season eating.
We’ve included a recipe for Prawn & Ginger Wontons, which are incredibly delicious but do require some patience to make. If you don’t have the time to make them from scratch, you can always use storebought frozen wontons — we won’t judge!
If you are making the wontons, it’s a big recipe so you will have enough for both the noodle soup and to enjoy on their own! If you’re cooking for a smaller household you could halve the recipe, or freeze them to savour another day.
Plus, a fabulous Crispy Rice Salad with Edamame, Radish, & Avocado. This is the sort of salad we could eat every day and never tire of — it’s the perfect combination of flavours and textures and takes just 15 minutes to make.
First, the Wonton Noodle Soup. This nourishing noodle soup hits the spot like nothing else — prepare to be blown away!
A simple dashi broth, laced with ginger and bolstered with a little soy and mirin for added depth is the comforting base for slurp-worthy noodles, fresh greens, and aromatic, satisfying dumplings.
